Changing Lives in the Triangle Through Real Estate

Living in at least 25+ different addresses in 5 states, moving somehow became the norm after college. I returned to Raleigh as a single mom in order to give my 2 children peace and stability. My dad, Frank, was a golfing, gardening, pediatrician and my mom, Harriet, was a volunteer extraordinaire, fundraising to start the NC Art Museum, instrumental in starting the Rex Hospital gardens, among other accomplishments. She is responsible for giving me a love of volunteering and giving back to the community. We were part of the Generator Society at Bald Head Island (see generator society for a fun read) and building the Treehouse was a labor of love for my dad for over 30 years. (They eventually sold the Treehouse, across from the turtle pond, and it was torn down.)

I had been successful in mini & mainframe software sales, but choosing not to travel anymore, I turned to my love of renovating homes (thanks to Dad!) and I earned my real estate license in 2000. Real estate is always changing and there are always new things to learn, which keeps it challenging. However, I never dreamed of how fantastic it would be to meet so many different, unique and incredible people along the way, and to be able to give back to the community in ways I never thought I could.

My parents both passed in their 90’s and after 67 years of a wonderful marriage. After Dad died, we moved Mom to an assisted living facility in N Raleigh. I learned all too well that "it takes a village" to take care of, and move, our fragile Seniors which is why I have started a Seniors selling and moving program. My goal is to surround your loved one with a vetted team of professionals, helping to remove as much stress as possible when having to make a move.

I have practically lived in every Raleigh neighborhood! (Well, not really.) Born on St. Marys St. in Hayes Barton, my parents built on the corner of Lewis Farm & York in Budleigh. In 2000, I renovated a ranch on Lassiter Mill Rd ITB then moved to Brookhaven. Then North Hills and Coley Forest before remarrying and moving to Anderson Heights and now we are in Bembridge/Stonehenge. I lifeguarded and coached the swim team at Kildare Farms while in high school, back when Cary was a small suburb! There has been a lot of growth and change, and we need to be careful with how we control our growth. I feel strongly that those who are building have a responsibility to build homes that reflect the charm of our community.

I have always loved taking classes, listening to speakers and going to real estate conventions because there is always something new to learn that will help me service my clients better. You will see my long list of designations, mainly telling you that being a REALTOR® is a passion that I love and invest in. To me, this is more important than telling you how many transactions I have done and how many homes I have sold, or about all the awards I have won. What should matter to you is who will you place your trust in when handling YOUR transaction!

When not with clients, I enjoy being with our growing family (currently 8 grandchildren), volunteering in the community, training for triathlons, woodworking in my she-shed, and cheering for my Clemson Tigers!

If you are looking to hire a REALTOR®, let's chat! I'd love the opportunity to meet you and discuss your real estate needs!
